Harmony Quilt: a fitting wedding gift

Hello there quilting friends! I have another finished quilt to share today. I must admit, I feel like I'm on a roll getting quilts back from the quilter, bound and photographed. Today's quilt is a gift for a very special couple who will be married in June.

You may recognize this pattern. It's my Harmony pattern which I've made three times now! I think the name itself makes it quite an appropriate quilt for a wedding gift, don't you?

Harmony is a fat quarter pattern based on a tri-color layout. For this quilt I chose prints from various collections by two Moda designers: Fig Tree & Company and Bonnie and Camille. My three-color scheme focused on navy, red and green, with a soft blue as a unifying accent color.

This photo show my original pull of fabrics . . . the selection that was my inspiration for the quilt. Sometimes when I am having trouble narrowing down my fabrics, I put them together in groupings and take photos. That allows me to sit in a comfy chair, study a photo, and decide what I like and don't like about a grouping.

The pretty machine quilting on my Harmony quilt was done by Barb at Quilts on Broadway. It seems that I always have a quilt at Barb's shop ready to go on the machine. She must be tired of me by now! Ha!

Isn't that ruby red gingham binding just heavenly? That print is from the Vintage Picnic collection by Bonnie and Camille. What a pretty finishing touch for this happy quilt! For backing fabric I chose the ocean blue posies print from Fig Tree's Coney Island collection. I absolutely love that print. In fact, I'm using the cream version of that print as the background fabric in my Star Spangled patriotic quilt!

Here is a photo of my original Harmony quilt, featuring the Coney Island collection.  This quilt has found a home with our beautiful niece who lives in Colorado.

If you are interested in purchasing my Harmony pattern, please visit your local quilt shop or one of my blog sponsors. You can also purchase directly from me. Harmony is available as a paper pattern or as an immediate PDF download on my Etsy Shop or on my Craftsy Pattern Shop. Quilt shop owners: wholesale information is available here.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you get carried away quilting real soon!
