Hello quilting friends! Can you believe we’re already six months
into the 2017 Patchwork Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop? I sure
have enjoyed the process of sewing just a few cute blocks each month.
Last
month I shared my six Homestead blocks and 10 piecing tips. This month's block is called Round
the Corner. Although there are a lot of
pieces in this block, the construction is super simple and they are so pretty!
Wouldn't it be fabulous to make an entire quilt from Round
the Corner blocks? Just imagine the blocks with some sashing and corner stones.
It would be wonderful!
Earlier this week I was having a “mom’s stressed out” evening,
so I made a new pincushion with some of my Fleurs scraps. This fabric just
hollers for sweet crocheted trim and pretty little buttons, doesn’t it? I quilted
the top with simple running stitches and added French knots to the trim using three strands of Aurifil’s aurifloss in 2021 (natural white) and 2425 (bright
pink). Impromptu sewing projects are the perfect therapy for me!
We are so lucky to be quilters and sewists. What a joy to create with beautiful fabric!
In case you are a new reader, this annual event hosted by Fat Quarter Shop is a charity quilt along. The patterns are free and are posted on the 15th of each month on the Jolly Jabber. Quilters are asked to donate $5 for each block pattern that they download. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! What a great opportunity for us all!
It's not too late for you to join in the fun. Here’s a link which provides all the details:

As always I am in awe of your precision in piecing in all of your quilty projects ๐Yes, I think this would make such a pretty quilt using this block design so may have to put that on the "back burner" as a someday project. I thought those were French knots on your sweet pincushion! ๐๐๐. Have a wonderful weekend๐
ReplyDeleteThanks friend! How many back burner, someday projects do we both have? Maybe I don't even want to think about it! Happy weekend to you as well!
